Positive Culture Agreement

As we come together to nurture a positive culture agreement across My Place, our Motto is to “Put UNITY back into CommUNITY” and to promote ‘My Place is Your Place’. We deliver purpose, shared values and behaviours for which we are all responsible. As we come together and leave our old beliefs behind us, we realise that we are all the same on more levels than we are not.

To commit to living in harmony with a conscious agreement in self and collaboratively we invite you to consider the following:

Creative – underlying premise – “Do No Harm” only to “Do Good”

What is my vision for the future? How can my purpose contribute to change the future?

Constructive – Underlying premise – “Actions have consequences”

What tools do I have? By joining others are my ideas better served?

We ask that you agree with a conscious effort to:

~Participate with integrity, respect and honour to your fellow members of your community.

~Practice deep listening and respect all voices through a purpose concord of participants expressing their concerns to discuss, within their community, corrective remedies and solutions.

~Value all members’ dedication, sharing, goodwill, benevolent intentions and tone during speech.

~Agree to uphold all values of My Place Communities and always assist where needed towards sustaining the overall vision of building a better future.

~I am accountable for any mal-intentions, all physical behaviours, all actions face to face, or through any medium of communications and willing to be held to account. I agree to never harass, intimidate or approach a member in any way of misconduct and human rights. I will be respectful, courteous, kind and helpful.

~Agree to be an inclusive community with no discrimination.

~I agree to fulfil roles assigned to me and that I volunteered for, whether that is as a coordinator, community action coordinator, treasurer, project developer or any other roles I volunteered for, to the best of my ability. Remembering I can always ask for help. All roles holding finance always to be transparent to the community group.

~I agree to communicate to the Project Management Team before speaking or contacting Media of any sort.

~Any large projects or business ventures I agree to discuss with my coordinator team.

~No telemarketing or business sales are to approach My Place Australia platforms.

When using private property we will agree to a waiver or insurance if required and always act responsibly to protect the property from damage.

If this agreement is disrespected.

There will be a meeting to make the individual aware of their behaviour, both parties allowed to address the situation and the coordinator team will decide if the situation required a warning or action. These conversations will be encouraged the right way with a neutral party.

Social Media Guidelines

Our community guidelines aim to ensure that our Facebook pages and other social media sites are inclusive and inviting for everyone. By becoming a member of a My Place Community social media platform such as Facebook, Telegram, or Signal, you agree to the following:

Comment moderation policy

We ask that you treat our Facebook page, or other social media platforms as though you’re in the same room with a group of friends. We ask you to be mindful of others and their opinions. Any comments that are considered offensive, threatening or unlawful will be deleted.

Remember, this is the real world, and My Place Australia will not tolerate any cyber bullying – be kinder than is necessary. Any content that is threatening, abusive, defamatory, indecent, menacing, harassing, offensive, infringes any person’s intellectual property rights or harasses anyone, in any way, will be deleted.

We will not tolerate racism, misogyny or rudeness. If you post something of this nature your comment will be deleted, and you may be banned from the page.

 Community standards

1. We welcome considerate debate and understand that there will be differences of opinion from time to time, but personal attacks (on authors, moderators, other users or any individual), trolling or abuse will not be tolerated.

2. We acknowledge criticism of My Place Australia’s philosophy, policies and performance, will occur from time to time but we will not allow persistent misrepresentation of our stance. We will delete any comments that are in disagreement with us if they are offensive, rude and distasteful, or offer harmful advice for others based on our philosophies and code of conduct. Similarly, we will only tolerate comments, posts and links that are relevant to the My Place Australia vision and its focus groups. Myths, misinformation and details of irrelevant information will not be approved or will be deleted if we think they do not sit within the parameters of the vision that underpins the My Place Australia philosophy.

3. We will remove any content that may put us (or you) in legal jeopardy. This includes potentially defamatory comments, material or links posted in potential breach of copyright and includes offensive profile pictures that contain profanities or indecent imagery.

Unacceptable use

My Place Australia social media sites will be moderated taking the above into consideration, and we reserve the right to remove any of the following as not complying with acceptable use:

  • Comments, links or images that are political in nature
    • Comments, links or images that are obscene, profane or hateful in nature
    • Comments, links or images that are sexist, racist or discriminatory
    • Comments that threaten any person or organisation
    • Comments that defame, accuse or harass an individual
    • Successive off-topic posts by a single poster
    • Links to off-topic personal profiles, groups or pages
    • Repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated by single or multiple posters
    • Solicitations or advertisements
    • Comments that encourage illegal activity.

In the event of a post being taken down because it does not comply with acceptable use, where possible the author will be informed of the reason in an open way.

Member participation

All My Place Australia members participating in discussion in a My Place Australia Community Facebook page, or other social media platform, can help to uphold these guidelines by reporting any behaviour that you feel in not in accordance with these guidelines.
